Japan 2017: Dotonbori, Osaka

After spending about two hours at Osaka Castle, we went to Dotonburi for some dinner. Since we had JR Passes, it was a bit difficult to go to Dotonburi. To get to Dotonburi from Osaka Castle, we had to ride the train from Osakajokoen Station to JR Namba Station.¬†Once you get down at JR Namba Station, its a long (and quite confusing walk) to Dotonburi. There weren’t a lot of signs to get there plus the underground walkway was a little too complex for day one! We persevered and we finally got there. Japan 2017: Osaka Castle

We arrived at Narita Airport at six in the morning. After having breakfast at McDonald’s (yes, I know, not the best choice) and getting our JR Passes, we headed to Osaka. To get to Osaka from Narita Airport, we had to ride the Narita Express and the Shinkansen. Total travel time was a little under four hours. It was a long ride but it was a great start (we got super excited about riding the Shinkansen) to our trip.¬†After settling into our hotel and freshening up a bit, we headed to Osaka Castle. Last October 11-18, I was blessed to be given a chance to spend eight days in Japan. In all honesty, I don’t really know anything about their culture or country.
