I was so excited for the second quarter of 2019. Most of my skincare products were running low and I knew I needed to buy replacements for it. It’s true the number of things I’ve bought increased this quarter but I still believe I did pretty good! It especially feels good since the products I bought are actually helping my skin and giving it the nourishment and help it needs.
I’m the type of skincare enthusiast that will buy everything new in the market. I have to have the latest K-beauty product or trend. That’s just me. I work hard, I shop hard. But last 2018, it was a challenge for me to do this. After getting married and sharing my finances with my partner, I realized I might have a problem. That’s why I decided to partake in this challenge shared by Rae. It’s called the low buy challenge.
I am trying my best to help the environment in any way I can. Being a skincare enthusiast, I need cotton pads. After realizing that I go through a whole bag quickly (2-3 pads a day), I made a life and skin changing decision to stop using it. There are drawbacks of not using cotton pads – like not being sure if there is residual dirt on your skin or skincare products being absorbed by your hands rather than your face – but being more sustainable ranks higher in my list than having nice skin.
When it comes to my skincare routine, I’ve already found the products my skin needs. I love all my skincare products and I have no reason to change it up but when this new baby came out the market, I was so excited for it and I knew I had to get my hands on it. Of course, it only took me months before finally getting it and reviewing it because my rule (and it should be yours too) is, I should only have one product for every skincare step.
