Self-love tag

This tag is from Gracie at Hugs, Gracie. It’s a tag about self-love.

One feature you love about yourself?

I like my eyes.

One feature you wished you could change that you have accepted?

A couple of things – my hairiness, my small holes near my eyes (my mom said I was premature that’s why I have them), my flabby arms (thanks to being fat and not exercising), my tummy, my thighs, my varicose veins…

I mean I could go on! I’ve just learned to accept myself, flaws, imperfections, and all. I still feel insecure about some things or features but I don’t necessarily have to give myself a hard time over it. Living with PCOS has taught me that I shouldn’t give myself a hard time over things I can control (like my weight or any physical feature). That’s why you use makeup or go exercise. We are all dealt with a set of cards, it’s up to us to learn how to live with it.

Have you ever thought of getting surgery to change your imperfections?

Yes but I’m not rich enough to push through with it. Also, I’m not 100% sold on plastic surgery as a form of self-love. I think that the line between it being self-love and narcissism is at times hard to distinguish.

Has a family member/friend ever put you down about your physical appearance? If so, what for?

Yes, but in a loving and please take care of yourself way.

Something you love about your fashion or sense of style?

I’m boring. I also dress up for comfort and not for anything else. It’s not something I absolutely love but it’s something that works for me.

Why is your body a great place to be?

What do you mean is my body a great place to be?

I have insecurities, lots of them. One thing I’m always telling myself is to accept it – flaws and all. If I find something I don’t like, I try to change or improve it, especially if it could improve my overall self-confidence. At the end of the day, regardless of all my insecurities, I am thankful that I am healthy and capable of doing the things I can. I choose to be positive rather than wallow in self-pity. I suggest you do too! ❤

Everybody’s body is a great place to be. Always remember that!

  1. This is a good tag! I want to do it, but I have some body image issues, so I’ll likely write a negative post. And I don’t think that’s the point of this exercise, hehe.

    1. Hahaha! You don’t have to post it? I liked this tag kasi parang pinilit ko hanapin kung ano yung positive sa katawan ko kahit na ang hirap niya hanapin minsan 🙂 I still hope you do it! 🙂

      1. I like a lot of things about my body, but I don’t think it’ll ring true kasi I also dislike a lot about it. Maybe I’ll just write one in my journal. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
