Today’s tag is brought to you by Emma over at A Dreamer’s Library. I just wanted to answer a book related tag. I’m thinking of giving myself a reading challenge for 2019. Do you have any good reading challenges? Or maybe I should just challenge myself to one book a month?

How many bookshelves do you have?

A stinky zero. I’m still convincing my husband to buy a bookshelf for the second room. Right now the second room is a storage room (ahem, future baby room) and since there is no baby yet, I’m trying to convince him to turn it into an office of sorts. He’s still not on board.

How many books are on your bookshelves? Or how many books do you have?

My husband and I have a rough estimate of 40 books. There used to be a lot more but I’m into finding new owners for the books I don’t like that much. (Want to see what I’m selling? Head over to my Carousell page)

How do you organize your books?

When I had a shelf, I used to organize it by size, then by author. Now that it’s in a box, it’s by size.

What is the oldest book on your shelf?

The oldest book would have to be my Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Officially, this is the book that got me into reading.

What is the newest book on your shelf?

Would you believe I haven’t bought a book this year yet? I skipped out on the yearly Book Fair which is where I get my new books. This means my newest books are still from last year’s fair.

What is the longest book on your shelf?

I’m guessing it’s the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I’m not into long reads lately. I just like short but meaningful stories that make me think and reflect on life.

What is the shortest book you own?

Does the back to back Hear the Wind Sing/Pinball 1973 book count? Technically, it’s two books in one. It’s short and very nice reads. (My review here.)

What is the predominant genre on your shelf?

Is mystical a genre? I own most of the books of my favorite authors, Haruki Murakami, and Neil Gaiman. I think their writing style should be classified under mystical.

Have you done a bookshelf tour?

Nope, maybe a second room tour when I finally convince my husband.

Go on a random number generator and talk about the book that corresponds with that number.

Kazuo Ishiguro’s The Buried Giant. It’s really not my book but my husband’s. I want to read this book too. I just have to finish Terry Pratchett’s The Reaper Man.

Do you have fan merchandise or any other decorations on your bookshelf?

Yes, eventually. I’m a big Big Bang fan and I would love to display my lightsticks and Big Bang albums there soon. #VIPforlife

I don’t even know why I answered this tag considering I don’t have a bookshelf. Here are some of the bookshelves I’ve been eyeing. (All from Mandaue Foam.)

About the Author Kat

To keep it short and simple: I'm twenty-nine years old. Still plenty young, but not as young as I used to be.

  1. Thanks for the link back to my blog, although the tag wasn’t mine to begin with. I simply found it on someone else’s blog and thought it looked like fun. If you’re looking for reading challenges, you could try scouting the Goodreads website. They usually have loads including the year long Goodreads Reading Challenge (set number of books a year) which is the only one I tend to stick to nowadays. At least you don’t have that many books to get through unlike my never-ending collection of 2-300!

    1. I figured it’s not originally from you but just wanted to link back to the blog I saw it from 🙂 Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll check the Goodreads site!
