Cooking Diaries | Vol. 13 – Pininyahang Manok

I’m not a fan of sweet food so pininyahang manok is definitely not on top of my list. But by some magical moment, I suddenly craved for this. I got the recipe off an app called Filipino Food. The original recipe made use of patis but I didn’t use that since I don’t like the smell. I also skipped the pickles cause 1) I don’t like it and 2) I don’t have it, lol.

In all fairness, the recipe is pretty straightforward. The result is also pretty good! I was pleasantly surprised. Here’s what I used for this recipe: garlic, onions, chicken, carrots, potatoes, cheese, pineapple chunks, and evaporated milk.

After prepping all that, the first thing that you’ll need to do is heat up your pot with a little oil.

After heating the oil, you’ll want to saute the garlic first.

Add in the onion next.

Once that’s done, add in the chicken and add in your chicken. Add in salt and pepper and let simmer.

Once the juices come out and the chicken half cooked, add in the pineapple chunks with the pineapple juice. Let it boil.

Once the chicken is cooked, add the carrots and potatoes. Simmer until veggies are cooked. After that add in the milk and cheese until melted.
