Cooking is fun but honestly, it does get boring and it sometimes becomes more of a chore instead of a hobby or passion. I was in a rut and I just wanted someone to cook for me. I took it as a sign and challenged myself to cook beef and cook our leftovers.
I’ve always had this fear of cooking beef because it might end up rubbery if the meat isn’t boiled for a long time. It’s also more expensive than any other meat product. There isn’t a lot of room for error here. To be on the safe side, I decided to cook curry using a premade curry mix.
What I did was boil the beef for 30 minutes to an hour. I then threw half the stock and just added in the curry mix and vegetables. The curry mix we used wasn’t good. It didn’t taste like curry at all!
My verdict, it definitely didn’t look like the beef curry I know. I’m not sure what I did wrong. Maybe it’s the mix, maybe it’s how I cooked it. Whatever the reason might be, it just didn’t taste right.
Sinigang na Bangus
I love bangus. I normally don’t like sinigang but sinigang na isda is so good I can have it daily! People don’t normally add in cabbage but it was raining when I cooked this and I had cabbage. It was a little weird eating sinigang with cabbage but the broth was so good, I let it slide.
