I was nominated by Keira from Method to my Melody and MS from My Personal HQ for The Sunshine Blogger Award. I am finally answering their questions in today’s blog post. As usual, I won’t be nominating other bloggers but instead I am encouraging anyone who is reading this post to answer the same questions they’ve asked or share ten things about them instead!

Without further ado, let’s start!

From Keira

Would you rather go to the zoo, library, or art museum?

I’d definitely go to a library. The Philippines has a shortage of libraries so I don’t know if this will ever come true. But let’s say I was in a different country with an accessible library, I’d definitely spend my days there.

When’s the last time you went dancing?

I never dance in public! I’m too shy to even try. I dance a lot when at home, alone. I like jumping up and down to my favorite music and shaking my body, lol. That’s my own definition of dancing.

What do you love about your hometown?

The thing I love most about Las Pinas is it’s easily one of the best cities in Metro Manila. It seldom floods, we have a great mayor (even if it’s a political dynasty at this point), we have great systems in place (help for the poor and senior citizens, organized city hall), well-lit overpasses, and it’s not filled with big buildings. It’s a residential city – we have fresh air and you can see the stars! It’s definitely different in the city I am living at now.

How have you changed in the last decade?

Oh god. This has to be a whole blog post, lol. In summary, I think I have changed a lot. I’ve matured a lot and have learned to prioritize things. My growth can be attributed to finding the right partner, my desire to be a minimalist, and my father’s passing. These three things are so critical to my growth! I don’t want to imagine the person I could’ve become if it wasn’t for these three things. It honestly makes me cringe. I wasn’t bad but there were lots of areas for improvements. I’d like to think that I have improved for the better.

What’s on your bucket list?

On the top of my head, my bucket list would be to have my own baby. I want a baby but I know that I can’t do it right now for financial reasons. I want to be able to give my future baby a very comfortable life and to be able to do that I just need a couple of more months to save and get a promotion, lol. In God’s perfect time. 🙂

Who has served as your role model?

I stopped believing in role models. I think having one is overrated. I do have inspirations. I like to take bits and pieces of certain people and try to embody them in my own way.

In terms of style, I do appreciate Tricia Gosingtian. She has this classy and relaxed look that is very appealing. In beauty/skincare, I get a mix of inspiration from Edward Avila and Joan Kim both of which take very good care of their skin even if they put makeup on every day! For being a person, a real person, I look up to Solenn Heusaff. She’s real as real can be. In everything else, I aspire to be like The Minimalists. To be like them is the ultimate dream.

What past jobs have you had? And what do you do now?

I’ve only ever had one job. I have no plans of moving to a different company since the job I basically do doesn’t appeal to me. I don’t aspire to have a huge salary because I live within my means. I seldom splurge and just balance my finances. Which basically means my day job will probably be the same until I retire, lol. I do have passion projects on the side like blogging and cooking. I plan to earn from it too! It’s still a plan but let’s see how that goes.

Where’s your favorite place to eat lunch?

At home with a home cooked meal. ❤

How do you act when you’re angry?

I used to be crazy. I’d like to think I am a lot calmer now. LOL. My husband would probably disagree with this.

What’s your perfect Sunday?

Today is a perfect Sunday. We woke up late because the rain was heavy and it was cold (why would you ever want to leave your bed if the weather was like that). I cooked my homemade tapa (which was amazing) and had garlic rice and egg with it. I then baked some cookies. Now I’m blogging! I’ll do some chores after this but overall, a perfect Sunday would mean staying at home and enjoying my husband’s company. ❤

What have you learned this week?

I have learned that the rainy season is my least favorite season ever. I only have two pairs of shoes (thanks, minimalism) whose colors are white and cream. Going to work is an adventure. Will my shoes get wet? Will my pants get wet? When is it going to stop raining????????

From MS

What is one thing you regret having done or not done in your life?

I know I’ve answered this before. I’ll say it again. I don’t believe in regrets. I always try to live in the moment and do things now. The things that matter to you should never take a back seat. It should always be at the front. That’s how I live. That’s how I try to live. The dream vacation you’ve always been wanting to have? DO IT. Just a reminder, do it responsibly. Be a responsible YOLO-er, okay?

If you had to choose one thing you were most passionate about, what would it be and why?

I’d normally say blogging but lately, I’m loving cooking. I like feeding people and seeing their reactions!

If you could buy one material thing, and money was not an issue, what would it be? And why?

Honestly, I don’t think I have one! See question #1, if I want something and that something is essential, I just buy it. It also helps that I am trying to be a minimalist and the number one rule in becoming a minimalist is buy only the things that add value to your life. Right now, I have everything I need. 😉

What would be the worst thing to hear as you are going under anesthesia before heart surgery?

OMG, WHAT KIND OF A QUESTION IS THIS?? I guess the worst kind would be the death of a loved one. I’d be like “noooooooooooo, don’t put me under”. The horror!!!!!

If you had to disappear and start a whole new life, what would you want your new life to look like?

I’d like it to be peaceful. Away from the city. Maybe in the province, near the beach, but with a farm. I’d like to spend my days tending to my farm and spending my nights watching the stars. Of course, I’d love my family to be with there with me. Life for me is simple – just as long as I have the people I want near me, I’m going to be good. 🙂

There you have it. My answers to Keira and MS’ questions. To be honest, I love this set of questions. I feel like I just did a reflection on life, lol.
