It’s been a long time since I’ve reviewed food on my blog. I stopped because I upped up my diet and a part of the cause of me being overweight was my unending desire to have reviews on my blog. Talk about dedication, right?
Mike and I have been trying our best to be wiser when it comes to eating out. We’ve also tried to have salads (honestly, eww) when we have our dates. It’s hard but eating smarter is the only way to go if I want to continue losing weight and achieving my desire goal before the year ends. Also, to have a healthier lifestyle overall.
The Old Spaghetti House
We have been thoroughly enjoying eating at The Old Spaghetti House. Their pasta is really good – cooked al dente and perfectly seasoned – that it keeps me coming back for more! We’ve eaten there twice (out of four times) when we meet up on weekdays. That’s how good it was for me.
Their branch over at Market Market is right next to Shrimp Shack. I’m not sure if they’re partner restaurants but Mike tried the Surf and Turf. It wasn’t the best and I would skip it if you ever end up here.
As for me, I love their Pesto with Grilled Chicken. You can really taste the herbs in this one (although I doubt if it’s fresh) and the grilled chicken perfectly compliments and completes this dish. I ordered it twice too.
Not in picture is The Old Spaghetti House’s Pepper Crusted Fish Fillet with Sundried Tomato Pasta. It was so good I ate a good amount off of Mike’s plate.
There’s not a lot of The Old Spaghetti House where I’m from. It’s my first time to try their food and it certainly did not disappoint. I loved it and we’ll probably eat here again this week if Mike agrees to it.
Fireside by Kettle
Since we have an upcoming wedding, Mike and I have been trying our best to not overspend when it comes to food. We’ve failed, miserably, when we decided to try Fireside at Mega Food Hall.
Our whole meal cost us 1200++PHP but man was the food good. We decided to get the Fireside Steak Salad and the Double Cut Porkchop. The salad was a bit of a disappointment since I’m looking for a healthy salad. It’s basically some greens with fried onion rings and steak. With our initial intention of eating something healthy, the fried onion rings was a failure. However, we completely and willingly threw our initial intentions after our first bite. It was so good! The balsamic dressing definitely completed this dish. The steak was also perfectly cooked which made it a delight to eat. I sinned but it’s worth it.
This pork chop is monstrous. It’s super thick! Even the sides were big. The gravy that came along with it was also delicious. I enjoyed sharing this dish with Mike. (Honestly, what more can I say about a pork chop rather than it’s good?)
The next time we eat here, I’ll ask Mike to order the Buttermilk Chicken Fingers, which I hear is another of their bestsellers. Overall, this restaurant is a bit pricey but totally worth it. I do hope we get to eat here again.
