I’ve come across this Japanese term, tsundoku, which means buying books and not reading them; letting books pile up unread on shelves or floors or nightstands and I thought, that’s totally me.
I came up with a 2016 Book Goals and totally failed that. I’m planning to fail again for my 2017 Book List, lol. Here are the books I will probably not read this 2017.
The Bourne Supremacy/The Bourne Ultimatum: I enjoyed reading The Bourne Identity even if I had difficulties imagining the fight scenes. I do want to read this. I just can’t seem to start. Sold this! One Hundred Years of Solitude: This one I’m not so sure if I will ever get to read. I bought this when I was still in college and it’s just there on my bookshelf, accumulating dust. Sold this! Rant: No idea why I haven’t sold this. Sold this! Pygmy: This too. Sold this!
♦ Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: I got this as a gift last year but I haven’t gotten the chance to read it. A part of me wants Harry to just be Harry. A young, brilliant but mischievous boy in Hogwarts. I feel reading this will change all that. Review here!
♦ The Fantastic Beasts: I know this is just the screenplay for the movie so I have no idea why I even bothered buying it. I guess you can call me a fanatic. Review here!
♦ Going Postal: I somewhat enjoy reading Terry’s writing style but it isn’t enough to convince me to start reading this. Review here!
Killing Pablo: I found a copy in a local bookstore!!!! *party* I’m a crime, narcotics and investigations kind of girl and this story is so fascinating that I just have to read about it.
♦ Hear the Wind Sing/Pinball 1973: I loved reading the rat series from Haruki Murakami. When I saw this book, I knew I had to have it. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while now, you know that I am obsessed with Haruki Murakami’s work. I know these two books will be a hit. I cannot wait to start on it. Review here!
I do hope I get a chance to read all of these books. If that’s not possible, I guess it’ll either be sold or donated.
Do you have books to read too? I’d love to read about it!
I found more books, unfortunately. I think these are all coffee tables. I’m not sure if I want to keep these three or sell them.
Humans of New York Stories by Brandon Stanton: I wanted this book because I was obsessed with their Facebook page. I haven’t read or even skimmed through it because….I have no reason why. After getting this book, I kept it in my drawer, not the best idea, I know.
♦ The Sandman Overture: My boyfriend gave me this because Neil Gaiman is life. I’m not fond of graphic novels, I guess that’s why I never got started on this.
The Complete Encyclopedia of Formula One: If you follow me on Twitter, you’d know that I love Formula One! I got this on Booksale. I read through the first years but somewhere along the way, I just got bored.
I had a massive book haul when we went to the Manila International Book Fair 2017!
