Leef iBridge Mobile Memory

When I was upgrading my phone I made the mistake of choosing the 16GB iPhone instead of the 64GB or more ones. This proved to be such a problem because as you all know, you’re not really getting 16GB, you’re getting less than that! In no time, your memory will be down to less than 5GB once you install all your apps and take photos and videos. Sure Apple is giving you an extra 5GB in the cloud, but say you have no/poor internet connection, the cloud isn’t a reliable option. It’s for these times that I am thankful for Leef iBridge Mobile Memory.

It’s a very simple device. One end has a hi-speed USB 2.0 connector while the other end has an Apple lightning connector. It’s basically your normal USB device with a lightning connector at the other end! It has a ‘J’ design which perfectly curves into the back of your device. This design looks sleek and isn’t such a hassle compared to the ones that just stick out.

For the iBridge to work on your phones, you’ll need to download Leef Mobile Memory App. Upon opening it, you’ll have four choices to choose from.

#1 Transfer Files – You can easily transfer photos from your iPhone to your iBridge, and vice versa, using this option. This also has your File Manager where you can view all the files in your iBridge. This is where you can view or move your document files, i.e Microsoft files, web pages etc.

#2 Content Viewer – This is where you can see all your files grouped together by kind – photos, music, movies and documents. If you like to watch movies/series with subtitles, I have found out that they do not support it as of yet. Hopefully Leef will look into this and improve it. Update: I’ve found out that if your videos have hard-subbed subtitles, it’ll work. But if you have .srt subtitles, it won’t! 😦

#3 iBridge Camera – It is a very simple camera that allows you to take photos and record videos straight into your iBridge. Unfortunately, it’s just that. There are no filters, burst, self-timer, time-lapse, slow-mo, square and panorama options. Even if that’s the case, it is still very useful especially for those moments when you need to capture a moment but lack storage.

#4 Settings – Just your basic settings for your device and app, including a backup option for your photos and contacts. It also shows FAQs and a very useful Contact Us link!

Customer Service

Using the Contact Us link in the Settings option of the app, I reached out to Leef to help me figure out why my iBridge device stopped working. Their customer service representative, Inna, was very helpful and even if we only exchanged e-mails. She made sure that all my inquiries and tantrums were well attended too.

In the end, we found out that my iBridge was improperly ejected from my computer. Data got corrupted which made my device stop working, I think. To tell you the truth, the technicalities aren’t as important to me anymore since Leef was kind enough to send me a replacement without any additional charges! All I had to do was send a picture of my device and its receipt. My replacement device flew all the way from Utah to Manila. It took them two weeks but it doesn’t matter because they still replaced it even if it was my fault why it stopped working.

Overall, the Leef iBridge is a great device to have. There isn’t anything bad you can say about it because it does its job of giving you the extra storage you need. Compared to other storage solutions (cloud and USB/lightning connector brands), the iBridge still wins for me because of its design, ease of use and customer service. I would definitely recommend it to Apple users who need that extra space!
