Let’s have coffee

It’ll be August by Monday and I am confused. On one hand, I want it to be September so bad (GOODBYE KATBLOGS.COM, HELLO KATALOGUE) and on the other hand, I want time to slow down a bit. Life has been everywhere lately and I just want to take a few moments to take a breather.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’m not on night shift anymore and I’m so happy to be on day shift. After FOUR long years, I am free and normal. This past week has been extra tiring. I am not used to going around the metro during rush hour and this week has been dedicated to trying different routes/methods of public transport to get to point A from point B without having to use so much money. I have walked so much this past week, It felt as if my legs were going to fall off.

BUT, I love this new challenge! Every time I ride the MRT, I feel like an action star – pushing, shoving and even slightly nudging people then feigning ignorance. I love the morning traffic. The challenge of waking up extra early just so I can get ahead of the pack of morning commuters. I love standing inside buses (even if I’m near the door) just so I can ride it. I love the sun on my face. I am so thankful even if what I just wrote down seems not ideal.

If we were having coffee, I’d proudly say I feel like I have changed a lot since January. See that whole paragraph I wrote before this, I put the blame on that on my decision to be more positive this year.

I have been working hard on changing my outlook in life and this past week alone was such a testament to those changes I feel like I’m about to cry. Nobody ever really welcomes change with open arms (especially when it makes things tougher) but I’m just ready and I’m welcoming it.

I guess, if we were having coffee, I’d encourage you to try that out for yourself. Positivity is such a wonderful change and it certainly makes things better. It’s hard but it is super worth it. 🙂

You only live one life, might as well fill with positive energy.

Oh and yes, I have been nominated by the lovely Alana over on Living Out Loud for the One Lovely Blog Award. I have been award free for quite some time now but I’d like to thank her for nominating me! You guys should head on over to her blog to get to know this amazing woman. 🙂

What have you guys been up to? Any posts you’d like me to read? Let’s chat!!

  2. Hi Kat!
I’m so glad that we are catching up with some coffee 🙂
I can’t believe that August already begins on Monday! I’m glad you mentioned it. July has literally flown by!
Congratulations on getting off the night shift! I also commend you for using public transportation. I have done that a couple of times and it is a great way to save money, get some extra steps in, and feel connected to the community. I took a bus to work for 9 months once and really enjoyed being able to throw my headphones on and zone out or catch up on my thought.
I really enjoyed reading your post. You sound happier than you have been and that is wonderful. You are on a great track just keep doing what you’re doing and always remember to Be Real. Be True. Be You.

  3. If we are having coffee, I’d like to sit still while enjoying the silence and aroma of brewed creamy coffee with you. And perhaps try another cup of coffee? 😀
