Let’s have coffee

I’m feeling a little sad. Mike and I had one of our annoyingly petty arguments and I would really love to skip coffee and go for something alcoholic. Maybe some vodka? Or tequila?

* * * * *

If we were having vodka, I’d tell you that I’m kidding. I don’t drink. Okay, let’s not be hypocrites. I do drink but I’ve had a rather unpleasant experience after drinking and as a personal choice, I’m staying away from it.

And now that we’re back to having coffee, I’d tell you about the fight Mike and I had. It went like this. We were discussing something but my iPad was on and it was distracting me. I ended up stopping our conversation and asked him to start from the top because I was distracted. After a few minutes, I got distracted again and laughed about something totally unrelated to what we were talking about. At this point, he got pissed. I asked him if he still wanted to talk about it and he said no. Thinking that he really meant it, I went my way and did other things. Next day, I was pissed that he still hasn’t wooed me for our little misunderstanding. Typical of me, I acted  like the little princess that I am and decided not to talk to him the whole day. I then texted him a bunch of mean stuff and blamed him for everything. He’s still pissed and decided to not talk to me and continue to blame me!! Well…NO! I’m a princess and he has to get down on his knees and ask for my forgiveness before I talk to him again.

I’m kidding. I’ll probably text him after writing this. For all those who are reading this and are in relationships, do you mind telling me how you and your partner communicate? For Mike and I texting or anything digital is more effective. I find it…annoying but this works for him since he’s typically more quiet. Do you have suggestions on how I can communicate effectively with him more? Or how can I encourage him to speak his mind more often? Or is it typical of guys to just clam up?

If were having coffee, I’d also tell you that it was his birthday when I fought with him and lol now that I’m writing this I feel rather silly. Also I’d tell you that the MRT broke down that same day and it took me three hours to get to Ortigas from Coastal Terminal. It typically is a 45 minute bus ride. And by the time I got to Ortigas, I found out that the MRT was already operational.

Why do I feel like this post is going nowhere? Anyway, as a finale, if we were having coffee, I’d share with you this ridiculous article I found on Yahoo! about a woman eating her pet horse after it died. My thoughts: if it were my pet, I wouldn’t eat it but I probably don’t mind if others did. I guess it’s better since horse meat is said to be tasty. 😛

How about you, would you eat it? Do you have relationship advice for me? Or simply want to share your week with me? Let me know and drop a comment below.

Have a fun and safe week ahead. Until next time!

  1. For quiet people, I’ve somehow learned that when you keep asking specific questions, the more they talk. 🙂 They don’t know why they should talk and where they should start. Asking specific, short, questions will help them. Not too many questions, though. Haha it might irritate them. A few will do. Next time, they’ll be the one opening up. 🙂 I don’t know if it will work in your case. And another note. Ask GENTLY. 🙂

    1. Thank you Gilian for your advice. I’ll have to try this next time, although I need to improve my patience too. He’s not one for talking a lot and it irritates me how I end up “nagging” 🙂

  2. Hi Kat!
I found my way here from Blogging 101. This is the first post of yours that I have read and man, did that escalate quickly!! If this is sober you talking then I don’t know what drunk Kat’s gonna be like! 😀 I totally get why you shouldn’t be drinking..
Kidding! I like you for some weird reason and so may be I’ll keep coming back. (Follow!)
As far as the whole relationship thing goes, I’m not good at those things myself. So, I’m just hoping things get better between you two!
    Have a good weekend!
    P.S. Did I not invite you to https://notionlux.wordpress.com/ ?? Guess I just did! 😀

  3. Awww, I’m sorry about your argument. Those are never fun :(. Christopher and I have both been guilty of this same scenario because we are surrounded by technology and he is a computer guy… Usually he is the one getting distracted when I’m talking.
What usually makes me feel better is if he acknowledges that he hurt my feelings, but he did not mean it maliciously at all then maybe the next time that we talk about something important he agrees to put his phone and or computer in another room.
I am learning myself that relationships (especially the ones that we want to last are all about compromise.) A lot of times we don’t even realize we are hurting someone’s feelings. It is clear that you weren’t trying to hurt him. I hope you guys work through it and come out on the other end laughing together. Hope that helps.

    1. Thank you so much for your advice. I actually read your comment yesterday on my phone and took it to heart. I apologized sincerely for my shortcomings and I’m so happy to announce that we’re okay now. 😀 Next time I’ll have to learn to put all my focus on him. I’ll admit that I didn’t realize that I hurt him quite badly. Thank you so much Alana Hugs xx

      1. I am so glad that it helped and that things are good again :). Navigating through relationships is always an adventure with its ups and downs. Everyone has their own shortcomings… What’s great about a good relationship is that we help each other work through our challenges and learn to bring out the best in each other. Have a Wonderful week, Kat! Hugs back, Alana. xoxoxo.
